A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAHONGA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZINC THE DESTaUCTION OF CITY
RECORDS AND DOCUMZIQTH WHICH ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED AS
PROVIDED UNDER GOVERNM~eT CODE SECTION 3/4090
~!EREAS, it has been determined that certain City records under the
charge of the City Clerk's Office are no longer required for public or private
purposes; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that destruction of the
above-mentioned materials is necessary to conserve storage space; and reduce
staff time, expense, and confusion in handling and informing the public; and
WHEREAS, Section 3~0~0 of the Government Code of the State of
California authorizes the head of a Cit7 department to destroy any City records
and documents which are over two years old under his or her charge, without
making a copy thereof, after the same are no longer required, upon the approval
of the City Council by resolution and the written consent of the City Attorney;
and
WHEREAS, it is therefore desirable to destroy said records as listed
in Exhibit MA' attached hereto and made a part hereof, in storage, without
making a copy thereof, which are over tmo years old; and
~HEREA8, said records have been approved for destruction by the City
Attorney.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONCA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLL(NS:
SECTION 1: That approval and authorization is hereby given to destroy
those records described as Exhibit wA° attached hereto and made s part hereof.
SECTION 2: That the City Clerk is authorized to allow examination by
and donation to the Department of Special Collections of the UniversiCy
Research Library, University of California, or other historical society
desiSnated by the City Council, any of the records described in Exhibit 'A"
attached hereto and made a part hereof, except those deemed to be confidential.
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this
resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 19th day of November, 1986.
