A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT FOR REPLACEMENT OF
OVERHEAD WITH UNDERGROUND DISTRIBUTION FACILITIES FOR
HERMOSA AVENUE AND HAMILTON STREET AND TO ALLOCATE
REQUIRED BY SAID AGREEMENT AND THE ACCOMPANYING CITY
EXPENDITURES RELATED TO THE HERMOSA AVENUE UTILITY
UNDERGROUNDING
WHEREAS, the City of Raneho Cueamonga i s in the pr oces s of
constructing certain street improvements along Hermosa Avenue between 19th
Street and Victoria Street and Hamilton Street between Hermosa and Cartills
Avenues. Such improvements which will cause the relocation and undergrounding
of the existing power lines; and
WHEREAS, the Southern California Edison Company possesses such p. oWer
lines and facilities and submits to the City for approval and execution an
"Agreement for Replacement of Overhead with Underground Distribution
Facilities" which is attached hereto, and which provides for the installation
of power cables to be placed in conduits and substructures provided by the
City, and to install new street lights and to remove the existing overhead
power facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City wishes to provide for such expenditures as are
obligated by such Agreement from the Beautification Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the £ity of
Rancho Cucamonga, California, to execute said Agreement directing the Mayor and
City Clerk to sign such and to direct the Finance Department to adjust current
budget allocations of the Beautification Fund for the Hermosa Avenue Utility
Undergroundings to provide for this Agreement and the completion of the City's
conduit and substructure construction as required therefore to a total amount
estimated at $197,389.00.
