HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-110 - Resolutions RESOLUTION NO~ 89-110 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING THE PRELIMINARY STATEMENT OF COMMUNITY OBJECTIVES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1989-90 AND PRELIMINARY SELECTION OF PROJECTS BASED ON AN ANTICIPATED GRANT OF $433,000.00 WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Cucamonga is an Entitlement City under the regulations governing the Community Development Block Grant Program; and, WH~REAS~ notice of t~e availability of fund for eligible projects was published in.the Daily Report and mailed to interested groups; and, W~EREAS, the 'Cit~ Staff has received proposals for projects and programs from various organizations in the Community; and, WHEREAS, the City Staff has conducted a needs assessment to determine program eligibility and needs; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has.held a legally noticed public hearing in order to give the public an opportunity to respond to staff recommendations for program funding and to put forth for Council consideration recommendations of their own; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has heard public testimony and received all public input regarding the City's Community Development Block Grant Program for the next program year. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does hereby resolve and take the following actions: 1. Determine that operation of the Housing Rehabilitation program in the ~ood plain is the most practical and desirable of the alternatives, and the proposed mitigation measures are sufficient. 2. Determine that operation of the historic preservation program, including properties in the floodplain, is the most practical and desirable of the alternatives, and the proposed mitigation measures are sufficient. 3. If relocation of households or business is necessary as the result of the Community Development Block . Grant program, the adopted relocation policy will be followed. Resolution No. 89-110 Page 2 4. Determine that street improvements is Southwest Cucamonga are the most practical and desirable of the alternatives, although they are located in the ". floodplain, and that proposed mitigation measures are sufficient. 5. Select for preliminary approval, the following projects and programs to be funded out of the City's Community Development Block Grant award: a. Housing Rehabilitation ............................. $ 70,000.00 b. Senior Shared Housing ................................. 6,300.00 c. SW Cucamonga Streets - Sierra Madre Improvements .... 250,000.00 d. SW Cucamonga Streets - Salina Design ................. 14,000.00 e. Historic Preservation Incentives ..................... 20,100.00 f. Program Administration (including Fair Housing ....... 72,600.00 at $8,975) Total $433,000.00 PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 15th day of March, 1989.
