HomeMy WebLinkAbout89-067 - Resolutions RESOLUTION NO. 89-067 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO VACATE A PORTION OF ALMOND AVENUE, LOCATED SOUTH OF 24TH STREET AND WEST OF CHERRY AVENUE, IN ETIWANDA AREA, APPROXIMATELY 23 FEET WIDE AND 1812 FEET LONG - APN 226-111-01 The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does hereby resolve as follows: SECTION 1: That the City Council hereby elects to proceed under Section 8300, et. seq., of the Streets and Highways Code, also known as the Street Vacation Act of 1941. SECTION 2: That the City Council hereby declares its intention to vacate a portion of Almond Avenue, a City street, as shown on Map No. V-087 on file in the Office of the City Clerk, a legal description and an exhibit map of which is attached hereto marked Exhibit "A" and "B" and by reference made a part hereof. SECTION 3: That the City Council hereby fixes Wednesday, the 15 day of March, 1989, at 7:30 p.m., in the Lions Park Community Center Building, located at 9161 Base Line, Rancho Cucamonga, California, as the time and place for hearing all persons objecting to the proposed vacation for the purpose of its determining whether said City street is necessary for present or prospective street purposes. SECTION 4: That the City Street Superintendent shall cause notices to be posted conspicuously along the line of the street or part thereof proposed to be vacated at least l0 days before the hearing, not more than 30 feet apart and not less than three signs shall be posted, each of which shall have a copy of this resolution on them and shall have the following title in lettering not less than one inch in height: "NOTICE OF HEARING TO VACATE STREET". SECTION 5: The subject vacation shall be subject to the reservations and exceptions, if any, for existing utilities on record. SECTION 6: The Mayor shall sign this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest to the same, and the City Clerk shall cause same to be published l0 days before the date set for the hearing, at least once in The Daily Report, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
