A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUC~J4ONGA, CALIFORNIA, SUPPORTING PROPOSITION 43 WHICH
PLACES BEFORE THE VOTERS OF CALIFORNIA, JUNE 3 , 1986 , A
BOND ME~URE TO PROVIDE FUNDING FOR PARKS AND RECREATIONAL
LAND ACQUISITION, DEVELOPMENT AND OTHER RELATED PURPOSES
WHEREAS, park and recreation programs vastly enhance our environment
and our lives; and
WHEREAS, leisure facilities and open spaces in both urban and rural
areas are a necessity to life, since they have a substantial effect on mental
and physical health, economic productivity and social problems; and
WHEREAS, Proposition 43 would place before the voters of California a
measure to provide financing of a program of acquiring, developing, or
restoring real property for State and local park, beach, recreational or
historical resources preservation purposes; and
WHEREAS, the proposed program will make available additional, or
augment existing, recreation areas and add or improve facilities in and near
population centers; and
WHEREAS, enhancement of parks, conservation of natural resources and
historic preservation projects have direct economic benefit to our community
and the State as a whole; and moreover, will benefit the health and well-being
of Californians.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, the City of Rancho Cucamonga goes on
record in support of Proposition
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 21st day of May, 1986.
